Roger L. Bettinger

Roger L. Bettinger, 64, of Warsaw, passed away at 12:25 p.m. April 21, 2013, in his residence.
He was born Aug. 31, 1948, in Warsaw, to Verle and Martha Thacker Bettinger. On July 15, 1972, in Warsaw, he married Jacqueline K. Knowles, who survives.
He was a graduate of Silver Lake High School, one of 26 students in the class of 1966, which was the last class before consolidation.
Living in Warsaw most of his life, he was a machinist for DePuy for 33 years.
He was a member of Warsaw Moose; National Rifle Association; American Bowling Association; and was a sub at Warsaw Bowl. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and golfer. He was a loving husband and a great dad who especially loved his grandchildren. He was a fiercely competitive brother, a rock-solid man who was very well liked and had a tremendous sense of humor.
Also surviving are a son, Darren Bettinger (and girlfriend Jennifer Brumbaugh), Winona Lake; a daughter, Shanna Marie (and spouse Brent) Elmore, Copperas Cove, Texas; four grandchildren: Zachery A. Bettinger, Ocean Springs, Miss.; Breanna Katelynn, Aiden William and Tyler Lee Elmore, all of Copperas Cove, Texas; two brothers, Rick Bettinger, Warsaw, and Donald W. (and spouse Marla) Bettinger, Taiwan; a sister, Nancy Kriner, Warsaw; and his mother, Martha Tucker, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kacy Lynn Bettinger, and his father, Verle Bettinger.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Bill Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
