Roger G. Stevens, 82, Warsaw, died at 5:55 p.m. Feb. 11, 2010, at his home.
He was born Nov. 21, 1927, in Warsaw, to Harold and Gladys Phillips Stevens. On Jan. 29, 1950, in Warsaw, he married Bea Bradley and they were together 60 years. She survives.
He was a gas serviceman with NIPSCO for 42 years, retiring Jan. 1, 1989, and a part-time electrician. He was a lifetime Warsaw resident. He loved ocean fishing, hunting in Wyoming; wintered in Sebastian, Fla., for 10 years; enjoyed traveling; even when he was most busy as a young man he always found time to play with Anna and Roger Jr.
Also surviving are a son, Roger (and spouse Kathy) Stevens Jr., Pierceton; a daughter, Anna (and spouse Chris) Paulus, Leesburg; six granddaughters: Tiffeny Wright and Karra Stevens, both of Pierceton; Kristin Paulus, Clarksville, Tenn.; Kelly and Jessica Paulus, both at home; Katie (and spouse Patrick) Russ, Safford, Ariz.; two great-grandsons, Derrick and Forrest Bain, both at home; a brother, William (and spouse Jean) Stevens, Warsaw; and a sister, Rowena D. Womack, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lawrence Stevens, who died July 11, 1978.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastors Jeff Pfeiffer and Bryan Coorey, both of Warsaw Community Church, officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
