Robert L. Lackey, 56, of Retired Tigers, Warsaw, died Aug. 18, 2013, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. He was born June 5, 1957, in Bremen, to Richard and Diana Hawley Lackey. He was a 1976 Warsaw High School graduate. He was an auto mechanic and worked for Midas Muffler and L.L. Body Shop in Warsaw. He was a big NASCAR fan, loved fishing and camping and was an avid “Star Trek” fan. Surviving are his mother, Diane Lackey, Warsaw; a son, Robert R. Lackey, Mentone; a stepdaughter, Tiffany Harris, Warsaw; a sister, Catherine (and spouse David) Rapp and Dawn (and spouse Roger) Ransbottom, both of Warsaw; a brother, Brad (and spouse Angel) Hamilton, Warsaw; six half sisters: Judy (and spouse Kenny) Purvis and Sherry (and Craig) Walters, all of North Manchester; Chris (and Martin) Garva, Warsaw; Julie Wakefield, Wabash; Connie Hensley, Fort Wayne; and Donna (and spouse Kenny) Oliver, Columbia City; a former wife, Robin Harris; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Lackey. Graveside services will be today at Palestine Cemetery, Palestine, with the Rev. Bob Jarboe officiating, following visitation.
