MISHAWAKA - Robert G. "Lefty" Veal Sr., 78, of Mishawaka, died Jan. 29, 2011, in his residence.

He was born July 25, 1932, in Akron, to Walter and Hazel Thompson Veal. On June 12, 1953, in Akron, he married Helen L. Fotz, who survives.

He was owner of Bob's Service Heating and A.C, Mishawaka, for 35 years. He was also a longtime member of Mishawaka Moose 1262. He was also a longtime member of the board of directors of Yogi Bear, Pierceton, where he liked to camp and fish and visit with friends.

Also surviving are three children, Robert G. (and spouse Cathy) Veal Jr., Pamela K. (and spouse Tom) Gean and Kathy S. (and spouse Rich) Matson, all of Mishawaka; seven grandchildren: Kelly (and spouse Dave) Grall, Jeremy Gean, Jodi Nelson (and Chris Spataro), Jennifer (and spouse Chad) Kling, Chris (and spouse Barbara) Matson, Michael Matson (and Kim Yeakey) and Marc (and spouse Jenny) Desimone; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother; and two sisters. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka, officiated by Chaplain Larry Rice Jr. of Center for Hospice Care. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
