Robert Alan "Rob" Loper, 47, of 1202 Wooster Road, Winona Lake, died at 12:17 p.m. June 2, 2009, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

He was born July 17, 1961, in Canton, Ohio, to Robert "Bob" K. and Judith R. Robinson Loper.

Formerly of Lucerne and Indianapolis, he was maintenance director at Jellystone Park Campground and Resort from 1979-96, and was a substitute teacher at Wawasee Middle School from 2006-09. He earned a bachelor's degree from IPFW and attended IUPUI in the master's program for history.

Surviving are his father, Robert "Bob" K. Loper, Winona Lake; four sisters: Sandra (and spouse Paul) Herzog, Springdale, Ark.; Susan (and spouse Dirk) Holcomb and Jennifer (and spouse Charlie) Johnson, all of Lucerne; and Diane (and spouse Brian) Catron, Warsaw; a brother, Andy Loper, Noblesville; and his beloved dog, Iggy. He was preceded in death by his mother, who died in 2008.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Leesburg Grace Brethren Church with Pastor Tim Sprankle officiating. Burial will be private.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
