More than 250 guests gathered last week for The Magical Meadows’ annual Rise Up fundraiser, which is one of the largest sources of revenue for the non-profit’s annual budget.
The evening centered around the theme of “opportunity,” with emphasis on the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of those served by The Magical Meadows, according to a news release from the nonprofit. The stories of two young riders named Brantley and Porter were highlighted during the event.
Together, attendees raised over $100,000 to support 2026 operating expenses and programming, ensuring that The Magical Meadows can continue providing services for children and adults facing physical, emotional, cognitive and developmental challenges. In addition, the event generated another $110,000 toward the Growing with Heart Capital Campaign and Expansion Project, bringing the organization one step closer to expanding its facilities and increasing access to services for even more families, the release states.
“The Magical Meadows began because Miss Tammy had the opportunity to change one young man’s life through therapeutic horseback riding on her personal property,” said Michael Kuhn, executive director of The Magical Meadows. “She turned that opportunity into a calling, and today that calling continues through every rider, every family, and every volunteer and supporter who believes in this mission.”
The Growing with Heart Capital Campaign and Expansion Project represents the next chapter for The Magical Meadows, allowing the organization to expand programming, increase accessibility and meet the growing demand for therapeutic riding, hippotherapy and equine-assisted learning services throughout the region.
The first of two new buildings is nearly complete and is fully funded. Full construction on the second building, which will serve as a dedicated 24/7 space for veterans and first-responders, will begin within the next few weeks. The Magical Meadows is still working to raise an additional $250,000 to close phase 1 of its capital campaign.
“The generosity shown at Rise Up is more than financial support. It is hope in action,” Kuhn said. “Every gift creates new opportunities for healing, growth, confidence and connection.”
The Magical Meadows extends heartfelt gratitude to all sponsors, donors, volunteers and attendees who made the evening such a success, the release states.
