Editor, Times-Union: As I left the Kosciusko County Right to Life Banquet this past Monday evening the Lord gently reminded me why I support life and why I support the right to life – because He first loved me and gave his Son for my life and for every individual human life that has ever walked the face of this earth. There is no other reason why I support life but because God first loved me. There is no other reason why I love or even can love but because God first loved me. If I forget this love and only support the right to life because that is what the church teaches or what my parents taught me or what the Bible teaches, then my support is void and empty. God is the creator of all life and therefore the creator of life in the womb. Is it a sin to take an innocent life? Yes. Is it a sin therefore to take the life of a baby in the womb of his mother? Yes. Does God’s love cover all sins? Yes – a multitude of sins. Therefore God’s love covers the sin of the mother who chooses to take the life of her baby through abortion. However, if that mom’s sin is never revealed to her and the love of God is never shown to her she may never know of the loving God who gave his Son so that she may have life and know love to its fullest extent. This is what Kosciusko County Right to Life’s 40 Days for Life Campaign is all about – showing moms in unexpected and unwanted pregnancies that there is a God who loves them and has a plan for their lives and the lives of their babies. When we stand in front of Planned Parenthood 12 hours a day we are petitioning God to act in the lives of these women and reveal to them His love that they would know His plan for their lives. I am addressing this specifically to Christians who confess to love God because he first loved them. If this is your belief, then please check your heart and pray how the Lord would have you be involved in this year’s 40 Days for Life. This year’s prayer vigil began on Wednesday, Sept. 26, and goes through Nov. 4. We would love to have you join us in prayer. Please visit www.kcrtl.org/40days/ for more information or visit www.kcrtl.org if you have any further questions. We are looking forward to a powerful time of petitioning our God for the lives of moms and babies in our community. Will you join us? Tami Miller Winona Lake, via e-mail
