I am addressing this letter to all folks who run/walk/jog/hunt aluminum, etc.

Today, I am offering an apology to the couple that thought I was going to run down on CR 225E near Indian Village. I am sorry I caused you concern. I had misjudged the speed of the oncoming car and we, you and I were in a no-passing zone. I could not cross the line legally. I'm at fault for causing you concern for not slowing sooner. Again, just a misjudgment of space and time.

I commend you for working on maintaining your health. You are at least 15 years my senior, by your appearance you are healthy and vital. Good for you. Now, read the law. If you are a pedestrian on Indiana roads, you are required to vacate the road surface if motor vehicles are present. I'm not going to look up the Indiana Code number, perhaps the law has changed since I last saw it. But "pedestrians need to vacate the road surface when encountering a motor vehicle." Not my desires - Indiana law.

I saved your lives today. You cursed me and wanted me to stop to confront you, at least that's how you acted. Be well, be healthy, be aware of the law. You need to get off of the road if cars are passing each other in your presence. That's the law, and in this instance, you only went single file and mouthed obscenities at me as I tried to avoid the oncoming traffic and you.
