Rider hurt in motorcycle crash

A Warsaw man was hurt Wednesday night when his motorcycle went off the road and hit a utility pole.

Allan D. Ross, 55, of 1047 E. Smith St., Warsaw, suffered injuries to his  abdomen and/or pelvis and was taken by EMS to Luthern Hospital in Fort Wayne, according to a Warsaw Police accident report.

The accident happened at about 7:03 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of East Winona Avenue and Smith Street, Warsaw.





The report said Ross was traveling east on Smith Street when he passed through the intersection at East Winona Avenue without stopping at the stop sign. His 2012 orange Harley Davidson drifted off the left side of the road as he turned to merge onto East Winona Avenue. The motorcycle left the road and hit the utility pole.

A witness said he saw the motorcycle pass through the intersection without stopping and hit the pole.

Alcohol tests are pending.

Damage was estimated at $10,000 to $25,000.
