SOUTH WHITLEY – Rickey T. “Rick” Moyer, 57, of rural South Whitley, died Aug. 21, 2011, in the emergency room at Parkview Whitley Hospital, where he was transported after becoming suddenly ill at his residence.
He was born May 27, 1954, in Columbia City, to Joseph Denver and Mary Deloris Anderson Moyer. On June 3, 1972, he married Jill E. Fry, who survives.
He graduated from Whitko High School. He made his home south of South Whitley for the past 39 years. He worked at Whitley Manufacturing for the last 38 years. He was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church.
Also surviving are three children, Shawna R. (and spouse Michael) McDonald, Fort Wayne, and Christopher T. (and spouse Faith) Moyer and Mallory B. Moyer, all of North Manchester; seven grandchildren; and two brothers, Tim Moyer, South Whitley, and Terry Moyer, Columbia City. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. Burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
