ROCHESTER – Richard “Dick” John Weiland, 79, formerly of Plymouth, died at 7:20 p.m. Feb. 10, 2012, in  Life Care Center, Rochester.

He was born March 3, 1932, in Winamac, to Edwin and Marie O’Neal Weiland.

On March 3, 1992, First Sergeant (E8) Richard J. Weiland retired after 30 years of  service with the Illinois National Guard, moving from Des Plaines, Ill., to Plymouth.

He is survived by a nephew, Patrick (and spouse Joyce) Thomas, Etna Green. He was preceded in death by three sisters, two brothers and a lifetime partner.

Services will be at 1 p.m. March 3 at Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Father Bert Woolson officiating and with military honors by members of Mantiou Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1343 and the LeRoy Shelton American Legion Post 36. Burial will be in  Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
