Continuously serving Kosciusko County since 1854
WINONA LAKE - Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Super Cute Cake Pops, a food van that serves homemade, specially designed cake pops, at The Farmers Market at Winona on Saturday, Aug. 29.
Laurie Read, owner of Super Cute Cake Pops, has been making chocolate-covered treats since 2019 and has noticed an increased demand for cake pops.
"That's what people really, really wanted because it was so niche," Read said.
She has attended The Farmers Market at Winona since it started four years ago as a full-time vendor.
In October 2024, Read was named the New Venture Champion in Ivy Tech Fort Wayne & Warsaw's New Venture Competition, earning her $40,000 in capital to use for her business.
In August 2025, she rebranded her business from So Cute Sweets to Super Cute Cake Pops, knowing she wanted to get a food van and sell cake pops.
"And that was how I spent the money," she said.
"The van is going to be very handy," Read said. She plans to book the van out next summer to double-book Saturdays, still participating in The Farmers Market at Winona as well as other events.
