Report Provides More Info On Accident

The names of the people involved in Monday’s accident at the intersection of U.S. 30 and Center Street,?Warsaw, have been released.

According to the Warsaw Police Department accident report, Jennie K. Loubert, 47, Walkers Ridge, Warsaw, said she was travelling east on U.S. 30 in a 2021 Chevy Silverado. When she approached the intersection with Center Street, her light began to turn red. She said she didn’t remember the accident but said her light had just turned red when the accident happened.

Harley M. Cleckner, 30, Angola, said he was travelling east on U.S. 30 in a 2013 Ford F150. He said he entered into the left-turn lane to turn west on Center Street. Cleckner said the left-turn lane arrow was green and he entered the intersection. He said Loubert’s vehicle did not stop at her red light and hit his vehicle.

A witness said he was following Cleckner’s vehicle in the left-turn lane of eastbound U.S. 30. The green arrow light was illuminated when Cleckner’s vehicle turned left. The witness said Loubert’s vehicle did not appear to slow down before entering the intersection.

A second witness said he was stopped at a red light on eastbound U.S. 30 at the intersection. The witness said Loubert’s traffic signal was red when her vehicle entered the intersection.

Loubert complained of head pain.

Damage was estimated at $25,000 to $50,000.
