* Special Fireworks - 1.3G - fireworks for which a permit is obtained from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives prior to purchase, storage or use.
Restrictions
Fireworks may only be purchased by individuals age 18 or older.
Children may only possess or use any kind of firework when an adult is present.
Fireworks may only be used:
* On the user's property.
* On the property of someone who has consented to the use of fireworks on their property.
* At a special discharge location (a place designated by the state fire marshal for temporary discharge of consumer fireworks).
Fireworks may only be used:
* Between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. on days other than holidays.
* From 5 p.m. until two hours past sunset from June 29 to July 3.
* From 10 a.m. to midnight on July 4 (Independence Day).
* From 5 p.m. until two hours past sunset from July 5 to July 9.
* From 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. on New Year’s Eve.
Infractions
Violation of fireworks laws and restrictions may result in a Class A or Class C misdemeanor charge.
Fireworks Safety Tips
* Never let children handle, play with, or light any fireworks.
* Store fireworks in a cool, dry place out of children's reach.
* Always purchase your fireworks from licensed fireworks dealers.
* Use a clear, open area. Keep audience a safe distance away from the shooting site.
* Never attempt to re-light, alter or fix any firework item.
* Have a fire extinguisher, water supply, hose or bucket of water nearby.
* Be cautious lighting any fireworks during strong wind conditions and light fireworks with wind blowing away from spectators.
* Never aim, point or throw fireworks at another person.
