Yesterday, I was listening to Pat White on WOWO who had read the first 500 pages of the health care bill and had highlighted several points with reference to the specific pages. I couldn't believe what I was hearing, since it appeared that this bill would turn the US into a veritable dictatorship. Following are some of the points I remember:
The government would have unlimited access to all bank statements, brokerage statements, etc.
The government could, on its own, electronically withdraw funds from these accounts.
All doctors would have to go along with this bill.
All doctors would receive the same compensation.
The Elderly, which would include myself, would have little, if any, say in their treatment or medications.
The government would dictate end of life routines.
It is acknowledged that there are some problems with health care and its rising costs, but this is no way to solve it.
There is no way we can allow this bill to become law in its present form.
I would suggest that the entire bill be put on the Internet to download or read.
Then one should contact their Senator and Congressmen, advise them, by page number, of your specific concerns and ask that they vote against the bill.
