Editor, Times-Union: Tuesday, May 5, 2015, marks an important day for our community. It is an important day because our community will be voting for the future of our children, teachers and staff of the Warsaw Community Schools. I attended Leesburg Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, Edgewood Middle School and WCHS, along with my four siblings. These schools provided all of us with the skills we needed to be successful working adults and parents, and four out of five of us still consider the Warsaw area home and are proud citizens of our remarkable community. After starting our family, we thought seriously about what schools our children would attend to help them blossom into young adults. My youngest child is blessed to attend Madison Elementary, we are thrilled with the opportunities she has been given to grow and learn in a safe environment. My older child attended Madison as well and is now at Edgewood Middle School. The differences between Madison and Edgewood, Lincoln and Washington’s learning environments are abundant and include asbestos contamination, nonfunctioning restrooms, foundation concerns, just to name a few. I believe by voting “yes” you are giving all of our children the same opportunity to learn and grow. Voting “yes” empowers our community to invest in our children’s future and further develops relationships for kids to stay in the Warsaw community. The children and future students of Lincoln, Washington, Edgewood deserve a safe, positive and constructive place to learn. This vote is about the kids of our great community! Please join me and my family by voting “yes” for building a new Lincoln, renovating Washington Elementary and Edgewood Middle School!
