Redistricting

Posted

Editor, Times-Union:
Many of us Hoosiers are totally opposed to the idea of a congressional redistricting bill like the one the Indiana General Assembly has been considering lately that would serve the interests of only one of the state’s two political parties to the detriment of the other party and tens of thousands of Indiana residents – including minorities and others in metropolitan Marion and Lake counties who would no longer be represented to the same extent in the voting booths of Indiana.
Can’t imagine that we, as a Midwestern state full of hard-working, fair-minded people, would allow a one-party “gerrymandered” land-grab like the draft map released Monday by the Indiana House Republican Caucus and backed by the Trump administration, which is openly threatening the political futures of Bray and his allies in this issue.
