Kosciusko County Recycling Depot announced their upcoming Tire Days events at the Kosciusko County Solid Waste Management Board of Directors meeting Tuesday, April 21.
Tire Days events are an opportunity for Kosciusko residents to dispose of up to six tires for free.
The first Tire Days event in 2026 will be May 11 to 15 at KC Recycling Depot, 220 S. Union St., Warsaw. Although scheduled for the full week, the event will end when the tire trailer is full.
KC Recycling Depot also has scheduled three additional tire events in 2026. These other Tire Days will be July 13-17, Sept. 14-17 and Oct. 19-23.
Janelle Meyer, KC Recycling education outreach and marketing coordinator, told the board all of the paperwork has been submitted for the waste tire grant through the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, which will be used to fund these events.
In other business:
• The April 15 Shred Day was their best yet, despite heavy rainfall.
Syracuse and Milford are both discussing the possibility of doing a shred event in their towns with KC Recycling.
• A part-time employee resigned. Bradley Stoddard was hired as a new full-time employee.
• Additional schools have scheduled educational programs with KC Recycling because Earth Day is coming up.
