Editor, Times-Union: Some time ago I joined the Warsaw Library Reading Group. This is a group of a few people who meet once a month to discuss a book they have read during the month. We select a book each time to be read during the period and then have an informal discussion about the book at the next meeting. We have read many authors and subject matters over time. What I find interesting is that some times a book you would not have read on your own is selected for the month. I have found that quite often I am surprised to find that I really enjoy the book. Other times, with a book which I have enjoyed, I find that the comments of others during the discussion gives me new insight and understanding of the book. This isn’t a group of intellectuals or anything but just a few people who enjoy reading. I can honestly say that each month is an enjoyable hour. So, if you like to read you may want to attend a meeting of the group. We meet the first Thursday of each month at 2 p.m. at the downtown Warsaw Library. We are reading for the July 7th meeting “A Tree Grows in Brooklyn” by Betty Smith. Hope to see you there! Larry Sydow Warsaw, via e-mail
