Raymond Lee BrineyRaymond Lee Briney, of Warsaw, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in his home on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2022, at the age of 79.

Known to most as Ray, he was born in Berrien Springs, Mich., on Aug. 9, 1943, the son of Cecil and Priscilla Parman Briney. He graduated from Kewana High School. After high school, he worked as a binder operator for R.R. Donnelley for over 40 years until his retirement in 2005. On July 4, 1991, he was united in marriage in Gatlinburg, Tenn., to Karen Gelbaugh. The two have shared 31 years together.

Ray had a passion for cars that started at a young age, both classic cars and model cars. He attended the Auburn Classic Car auction every year and loved going to the drag races. He also loved to attend car shows and watch NASCAR. Ray was constantly on the go, enjoying both the Blueberry Festival and The Covered Bridge festival. His favorite festival was the James Dean Festival. When not at a car show or festival, the best time spent was with his family. He enjoyed sharing stories and treasuring the memories with them. His family will keep sharing the memories of Ray and keep his spirit shining in their daily lives.
