NAPPANEE - Ray J. Burkholder, 83, of 681 1st Road, Nappanee, died at 4:10 p.m. Nov. 24, 2010, in his residence after an extended illness.
He was born March 19, 1927, in Marshall County, to Jacob M. and Lizzie Miller Burkholder. On Oct. 27, 1955, in Marshall County, he married Barbara S. Chupp, who survives.
A lifetime Nappanee resident, he had a general welding repair shop and was a farmer. He was a member of Bishop of Old Order Amish Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Cathy Lynn (and spouse Marvin) Hochstetler, Nappanee, and Norma Sue Burkholder, Edwardsburg, Mich.; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the David Borkholder residence with Bishop Alvin Borkholder, Old Order Amish Church, officiating. Burial will be in Borkholder Cemetery.
