Ralph Thomas 'Tom' Zinz

Ralph Thomas “Tom” Zinz, 63,  Warsaw, passed away at 4:35 p.m. Nov. 13, 2014 in his residence.
He was born Dec. 15, 1950, in Oil City, Pa., to Jerold and Ethel Gegoine Zinz.
On June 27, 1970, in Oil City, he was united in marriage to Nancy Sherman, who survives in Warsaw.
He faithfully served God and Country in the United States Navy from 1970 to 1972 during the Vietnam War as an aircraft mechanic (AM H3). A graduate of Rocky Grove High School, Franklin, Pa., he attained an A.A. degree in biomedical equipment technology with a concentration in electronics from Edinboro University, Edinboro, Pa., in 1985 and a B.S. from Alliance College in technical management with a minor in manufacturing engineering, Cambridge Springs, Pa. He was included in the National Dean’s List.
A Warsaw resident since 1991, he was a member of the American Legion and volunteered for the Eagles and Cub Scouts. He was employed by Joy Manufacturing, Franklin, Pa., as machinist inspector from 1973 to 1987; Halstead Metal Products, Zelienople, Pa., as a quality manager from 1988 to 1991; Elkhart Metal Products, Geneva, Ind., from 1991 to 1992; Bremen Castings as a quality manager from 1992 to 1994; Lloyds of London/Lloyds Register Quality Assurance, London, England, as lead auditor from 1997 to 2006; and CAN Tool, Churubusco, as a quality engineer from 2006 to 2014. He was an avid motorcyclist, hunter, fisherman, coin collector and little league coach.
Also surviving are two daughters, Renae L. (and spouse Quentin) Scott, Schcora, Pa., and Rachelle Glancy, Decatur, Ind.; a son, Richard E. Zinz, Larwill; a sister, Mary (and spouse Harold) Howard, Pocatello, Idaho; two brothers, Alan E. (and spouse Patty) Zinz, North Ogden, Utah, and Michael (and spouse Sandy) Zinz, Marble Hill, Miss.; four grandchildren Jessie (and spouse Jena) Musthaf, Jeffery Musthaf, Brandon and Nicole Teeple; and two great-grandchildren, Damian and Serenity Musthaf.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor David Cripe officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery,  Warsaw, with military rites conducted by Warsaw American Legion Post # 49 and VFW Post # 1126.
Calling is from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
