NAPPANEE - Ralph D. "Bud" Miner, 80, of 9 Boulder Court, Nappanee, died at 1:50 a.m. Feb. 2, 2008, in Hubbard Hill Estates, Elkhart, after an extended illness.

He was born Feb. 18, 1927, in Etna Green, to Bramwell F. and Katy Ruth Heisler Miner. On Aug. 2, 1952, in Wanatah, he married Patricia "Pat" Richman, who survives.

Living in the Nappanee area for 55 years, he was an Etna Green High School graduate and served on the Nappanee Volunteer Fire Dept. "Smokey Stovers" for 30 years. He was a former Standard Oil agent and a former photographer and owner and operator of Miner Studio, Nappanee. He was a World War II Army Air Corp veteran. He attended Nappanee United Methodist Church and was a former Jacyee and Rotary Club member, both in Nappanee.

Also surviving are two daughters, Gayle (and spouse Ron) Davidhizar and Sandy (and spouse Brian) MacGowan, both of Wakarusa; a son, Gary (and spouse Teri) Miner, Palmer, Alaska; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, James (and spouse Beth) Miner, Etna Green, and Dean (and spouse Jill) Miner, Warsaw; and three sisters, Helen "Tess" VanCuren, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mary (and spouse Sam) Hoffer, Indianapolis; and Jane (and spouse Tom) Ebbing, Albion. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Nappanee United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Harrold officiating. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery, Nappanee.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
