R. Eileen Lichtenwalter Estep, 89, of Warsaw, passed away at 11:20 a.m. Feb. 16, 2013, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. She was born Feb. 27, 1923, in Chicago, Ill., to Charles E. and Grace L. Kaufman Kelley. On May 27, 1979, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Warsaw, she was married to Leonard A. Estep by the Rev. Dr. David Abel. He died Sept. 19, 2010. She was a resident of Chicago, Palestine, Tippecanoe Lake, Warsaw and The Caring House since 2009. She worked at Sears, Roebuck & Co. for 30 years in the paint department, where she was known to many as “the paint lady”. She also was a clerk at Brennan’s Drug Store for many years. Memberships include Dutchtown Brethren Church, Warsaw; First Brethren Church; Trinity United Methodist Church from 1979 – 2013; Lambda Chi Omega Society; Martha Circle; and Order of the Eastern Star. She was an avid bowler and a proud member of the Warsaw Women’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame. Surviving are a stepson, Mickey L. (and spouse Melissa) Estep, Warsaw; grandchildren: Leslie (and spouse Josh) Wildman; Lisa Estep (and Doug Brumfield); Brett Estep; Jacob (and spouse Melissa) Messner, all of Warsaw; a brother-in-law, Bob Lichtenwalter, Warsaw; a sister, V. Diane Poort, Warsaw; 10 nieces and nephews: Maureen (and spouse Terry) Mauzy, Michigan City; Mike (and spouse Hope) Reiff, Chris (and spouse Tammy) Kehler, Shawn Haines and Emerson (and spouse Natalie) Poort, all of Warsaw; Bruce (and spouse Tamara) Tatman, El Cajon, Calif.; Lisa Holler, New Haven; Laura (and spouse Tim) Ehlers, Camby; Mitch Kehler, Greenwood; and Nicole (and spouse Chad) Dippon, Milford; seven great-grandchildren; and several great-nieces and -nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Jeri Tatman Martin, who died Jan. 3, 1999, and Kathryn Reiff, who died Dec. 11, 2012. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, with Pastor Jack Worth of the Dutchtown Brethren Church and Pastor Dave Hummel of the Trinity United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Etna Green Cemetery.
