This community has been so blessed with the high quality of locally produced music provided by the likes of The Master Works personnel, the Symphony of the Lakes, the Second Sunday Series and a wonderful variety of chamber music and solo performances.
Our area has been greatly enhanced by the presence of these high quality performers and here's the best part - it's all free. That doesn't mean it doesn't cost anything, so they are all deserving of the best support we can give.
I'll be thinking of all of these good things as I sit at the special Valentine's Day banquet tables on this coming Second Sunday program (Sunday, 7:30 p.m. - Rodeheaver Auditorium) enjoying the candlelight atmosphere, the rose petals, the romantic music, chocolate and other goodies. And let us not forget the Feb. 16 Symphony of the Lakes concert, again at Rodeheaver but for this one time only the performance will begin at 8 instead of the usual 7:30.
Just wait until you hear Gert Kumi play the Saraste Gypsy Airs, and just wait till you hear Don and Denise Bernardini sing from La Boheme. You'll be singing praises yourselves. There are other compositions by Bach, Haydn, Rimsky-Korsakov and Aaron Copland on the program that are very impressive. We hope to see you there.
