Purdue Extension To Offer Smartphone Basics: Android & iPhone For Adults

Posted

Purdue Extension will offer a two-session educational program aimed at helping adults gain confidence and skills in using smartphones and tablets.
The Smartphone and Tablet Basics program, scheduled for Oct. 15 and 29, will provide participants with essential tools to navigate and maximize the use of their mobile devices.
This program is tailored for adults who may be new to mobile technology or those looking to refresh their knowledge. Topics will include navigating device settings and features, password management, setting up In Case of Emergency (ICE) contacts, connecting to WiFi, downloading and managing apps, using communication tools like text messaging and email, safe internet browsing and online security and camera basics.
The sessions will be led by Shannon Shepherd, Purdue Extension health and human sciences educator.
“With smartphones and tablets becoming integral to daily life, it’s essential that everyone, regardless of their experience level, has the knowledge and skills to use them confidently,” said Shepherd. “This program is designed to make technology more accessible and empower participants to take full advantage of the many tools and resources available at their fingertips.”
The program will be held at the Warsaw Community Public Library, 310 E. Main St., Warsaw, from 4 to 5 p.m. on both dates. There is no cost to attend, but pre-registration is required to ensure adequate materials and space.
