Property Taxes

Editor, Times-Union:

We, the undersigned, want your complete attention on this very important matter. We want the Indiana property tax repealed.

According to Eric Miller, there are very easy ways to accomplish this. The revenue can be replaced by a 1-percent income tax increase, a 2-percent sales tax increase and $500 million from businesses. State and local government will be required to decrease spending.

We would certainly appreciate it if all our elected government officials, including state, county and city officials cared enough to get involved and get informed on what is best for Indiana and the property owners living and paying taxes here. Advance America had a rally here recently. We only had two state officials, perhaps four Kosciusko County officials and two Warsaw city officials in attendance.

We want Governor Daniels to call a special session of the General Assembly to enact this solution and pass a constitutional amendment to repeal property taxes.
