Princess Marie Frush

Princess Marie Frush, 97, formerly of Retired Tigers, Warsaw, died at 1:15 a.m. May 31, 2008, in Hickory Creek, Rochester.

She was born Feb. 16, 1911, in Kosciusko County, to Jacob and Bessie Mae Marvel Rathbun. On Sept. 30, 1933, in Warsaw, he married Robert C. Frush, who died in 1985.

Living most of her life in Kosciusko County, she lived in Fort Wayne during World War II. She worked at Strayer Insurance Agency in the 1950s, and was a support clerk at the Kosciusko County Courthouse. She was a member of First Brethren Church, Warsaw, where she served as a deaconess, was a member of Women's Missionary Society and Home Extension "Keeping On Club." She was a member of Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary and Pythian Sisters.

Surviving are a daughter, Ellen (and spouse Donald) Smith, Rochester; a son, James (and spouse Charlene) Frush, Senatobia, Miss.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Cyril Rathbun; and a son-in-law, Thomas Reed, who died in 2003.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with the Rev. Bill Shipman officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
