Prep Roundup: Triton Wins Four-Way Golf Match

NORTH JUDSON – Delanie Groves’ nine-hole round of 51 led the Triton girls golf team to a win in a four-team match Wednesday at Chesapeake Run Golf Club.

The Lady Trojans had a team score of 224, while Knox scored a 253, North Judson posted a 266 and West Central scored a 275.

Lakeland Christian’s lone golfer, Abigail Fishel, medaled with a 49.

Triton’s Samantha Edington carded a 54, Alysha May had a 59, and Maddie Ritchison recorded a 60.



Lady Squires Fall To Huntington North

HUNTINGTON – Kelsey Eichenauer shot a 41 but the Manchester girls golf team lost 170-177 Wednesday in a match against Huntington North at Norwood Golf Club.

Manchester’s Madyson Ulrey and Cora Barnett shot 44s, while Alissa Bickerstaff carded a 48 and Morgan Stroud posted a 57.

The Lady Squires (8-1) will play today against Warsaw at 4:30 p.m. at Stonehenge Golf Club.



North Judson Downs Triton Spikers

NORTH JUDSON – The Triton volleyball team lost 25-11, 25-13, 25-14 Wednesday at North Judson.

Lexia Hostrawser tallied seven kills, while Dylanie Miller recorded nine assists, Jaela Faulkner registered six digs and Abbey Viers posted five kills.

The Lady Trojans lost the JV match 25-2, 25-1. Triton next will play Tippecanoe Valley today at 6 p.m.



Squire Netters Lose Home Match

NORTH MANCHESTER – Luke Donathan and Brady Wiley won matches, but the Manchester boys tennis team lost 3-2 Wednesday in a home match.

Donathan won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, while Wiley took No. 3 singles, 6-2 ,6-2.

The Squires are 2-4, 1-1 TRC. Manchester lost the JV match, 3-0.



LCA Kickers Fall To

Fort Wayne Fusion

FORT WAYNE – Tori Calizo scored two goals Tuesday, but the Lakeland Christian girls soccer team lost 4-2 to Fort Wayne Fusion in an away match.

Lakeland Christian managed 12 shots on goal, while Maddie Paris was in the net with four saves for the Lady Cougars (5-1-1).

Lakeland Christian next will play Trinity on Friday at 5:30 p.m. at home.



Aquatic Club News

Warsaw Aquatic Club swim coach Chris Lalonde will hold an informational meeting for new and returning swim families on Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Warsaw Community Pool.

Topics of discussion will include the program’s fall fundraiser, swim standards, team expectations, and the upcoming season.

Tryouts for the club will be held Thursday, Sept. 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. for children ages 5 and up.

Swimmers will have to swim the length of the pool (25 yards), and their times will be recorded as a guage to track progress.

Each new swimmer will need to bring a copy of their birth certificate to tryouts, as required by USA Swimming for registration.

The registration fee is $60 for swimmers on free and reduced lunches, as long as WAC verifies eligibility with a copy of a Hoosier Healthwise insurance card, WIC card, or a letter verifying eligibility from the school corporation.
