CULVER – Anna Reimink scored four goals as the Lakeland Christian girls soccer team won 7-0 Tuesday at Culver Community.
“We played one of our better games,” said Lakeland Christian coach Nat Raber. “We controlled the ball and the tempo of the game. We have a few things to clean up, but I am really happy for the way our team played.”
Tori Calizo kicked in two goals while Jessi Calizo added one.
Maddie Paris was in the net with three saves for Lakeland Christian (10-2-2).
The Lady Cougars had 12 shots on goal. They will host Bremen on senior night Thursday at 5 p.m.
Lakeland Christian will hold a “pink out” to raise money for the Kosciusko Cancer Care Fund.
Wawasee Blanked By Elkhart Memorial
SYRACUSE – The Wawasee girls soccer team fell 4-0 to Elkhart Memorial Tuesday in a Northern Lakes Conference home match.
The Lady Warriors (2-12-1, 0-6 NLC) will close out their conference schedule Thursday at 6 p.m. at NorthWood.
Vining’s Goal Not Enough For Valley
ARGOS – Harrison Vining scored a goal, but the Tippecanoe Valley coed soccer team lost 4-1 Tuesday at Argos.
Vining’s goal was assisted by Jacob Bailey and tied the score at 1 in the first half.
However, the Dragons scored two more goals in the first half to carry a 3-1 lead into halftime.
They scored an insurance goal in the second half.
Cougars Crushed By Culver Academies
WINONA LAKE – The Lakeland Christian boys soccer team lost 11-0 Tuesday to Culver Academies in a home match.
The Cougars (9-4-1) had three shots on goal, to Culver Academies’ 22.
Peter Koller and Remington Swanson combined for 11 saves for the Cougars.
“We didn’t play our best, and Culver played very well,” said Lakeland Christian coach Dan Miller. “At this point in the year we have to get better. This is a busy week, we need to get healthy and play better. I know we can.”
Warriors Shut Out By NLC Foe Northridge
MIDDLEBURY – The Wawasee boys soccer team was shut out 5-0 Tuesday in a Northern Lakes Conference match at Northridge.
The match was ended in the 57th minute because of lightning.
The Raiders scored four of their goals in the first half. Wawasee’s Dillon Drake was in the net with five saves.
The Warriors are 4-11, 0-5 NLC. Wawasee lost 5-1 in the JV match.
Wildcats Waver Against Panthers
LaGRANGE – The Whitko boys soccer team lost 8-0 Tuesday at Prairie Heights.
The?Panthers scored six goals in the first half and two in the second.
Whitko Heads Into Sectional With Loss
SOUTH WHITLEY – Aiden Hoffman picked up a singles win, but the Whitko boys tennis team was edged 3-2 by Prairie Heights Tuesday in a home match.
Hoffman won in straight sets, while both of Whitko’s doubles teams lost in hard-fought matches.
The Wildcats will play Tippecanoe Valley today at 4:30 p.m. in the first round of the Warsaw Sectional.
Triton Swept By Pioneer
BOURBON – Lexia Hostrawser and Alyxa Viers had five kills each as the Triton volleyball team lost 25-18, 25-14, 26-24 to Pioneer Tuesday in a Hoosier North Athletic Conference home match.
Dylanie Miller had 10 assists, while Jaela Faulkner and Molly McFarland recorded 10 digs each.
The Lady Trojans are 4-17 overall and 2-5 in the HNAC.
Triton lost the JV match 25-18, 25-17. The JV squad is 12-8, 5-2 HNAC.
Manchester Breezes By Northfield
NORTH MANCHESTER – The Manchester JV volleyball team earned a 2-0 win over Northfield Tuesday in a home match.
Allison Zartman tallied nine kills for the Lady Squires, while Alyssa Marvel tallied 11 assists and 10 digs.
Catherine Ondrla registered 14 digs for Manchester.
The Lady Squires’ ‘C’ Team won 25-24, 25-5 Tuesday against Culver Academy.
Marvel recorded five assists, while Alayna Miller had five aces.
