SOUTH?WHITLEY – Anna Reimink and Carly O’Hara scored two goals each to lead Lakeland Christian to a 7-1 girls soccer victory Monday over the host Whitko Lady Wildcats.
Tori Calizo, Jesi Calizo and Lauren Starrett also scored for the Lady Cougars, while Maddie Paris was in the net with three saves.
Charlotte Cripe scored the lone goal for Whitko.
“We played a pretty solid game,” said Lakeland Christian coach Nat Raber. “I would like to have seen more possession and build up as four of our seven goals went unassisted.
The Lady?Cougars (3-0-1) next will face Central Noble at 5 p.m. today in a home match.
Whitko Kickers Fall To Central Noble
SOUTH?WHITLEY – The Whitko boys soccer team fell 11-0 to Central Noble on Monday in a home match.
Central Noble scored five goals in the first half and six more in the second.
Whitko (0-4) next will play Thursday, Sept. 6 in a home match against?Columbia City.
Memorial Tops Wawasee Warriors
ELKHART?MEMORIAL – Chris Pena kicked in two goals, but the Wawasee boys soccer team lost 7-2 Monday at Elkhart Memorial.
Cameron Gillum tallied an assist for the Warriors (2-4), while Evan Dippon recorded 14 saves in the net.
Whitko Netters Blanked By County Rival
SOUTH?WHITLEY – Whitko’s boys tennis team was shut out 5-0 against Columbia City in a home match Monday.
Columbia City lost just one set in the entire match.
Wawasee JV Spikers Fall
SYRACUSE?– The Wawasee JV?volleyball team fell 3-1 Monday to Goshen in a home match.
Wawasee lost 10-25, 25-20, 14-25, 20-25.
Emma Dippon tallied nine kills for Wawasee, while Morgan Heche recorded 19 digs and three aces.
Leslie Vazquez had 18 digs, while Kai Jamora registered 15 digs and 12 assists and Delaney Hare had 13 digs.
Wawasee’s freshman team beat Goshen 2-1. Gloria Slabaugh posted four aces and six digs for the?Lady Warriors (5-0).
Warsaw JV Football Falls In OT
KENDALLVILLE – The Warsaw JV football team lost a close game, 28-26 in overtime at East Noble.
The Tigers (1-1) came back from down 20-6 in the third quarter to tie the game at 20 to head to overtime.
However, Warsaw was outscored 8-6 in overtime for the loss. The Tigers next will play Saturday at 10 a.m. against Plymouth at Fisher Field.
