Prep Roundup: Lady Vikings Get Eaton 100th Career Win

AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley volleyball coach Mallory Eaton garnered her 100th career win in a 3-0 home win over Peru on Tuesday.

Valley won 25-19, 25-17, 25-8. Hannah Jansma recorded six kills, while Sarah Myers tallied seven assists and Shayleigh Shrive had six digs for the Lady Vikings (4-5, 1-1 Three Rivers Conference).

Valley won the JV match 25-8, 25-23.

Valley’s Bree Sheetz had five kills, while Macy Kirchenstein recorded nine assists and Ashley Butler served up five aces.



Manchester Serves Wawasee

NORTH?MANCHESTER – Anna Osborne tallied 16 kills to lead the Manchester volleyball team to a win in four games Tuesday over the visiting Wawasee Lady Warriors.

Manchester won 25-13, 25-22, 24-26, 25-19.

Eva?Bazzoni had six kills and 20 digs for the Lady Squires (8-3), while Kendra Kline registered 24 assists and 12 digs.

Manchester’s Ali Sites recorded 23 digs, while Emma West had 15 digs.



Cougars Cruise Past Warriors

WINAMAC?– Micah Mansfield scored two goals Tuesday as the Lakeland Christian boys soccer team won 4-1 at Winamac.

Theran McKeever assisted on both of Mansfield’s scores, as well as on a goal by Parker Stewart.

Trenton Parker also scored for the Cougars (5-1), while Remington Swanson made three saves in the net.



Lady Squires Slighted On Penalty Kicks

DENVER – The Manchester girls soccer team was on the losing end of penalty kicks Tuesday at North?Miami.

Manchester was down by one goal when Jirni Cripe scored on an assist from Emma Garriott with six minutes left in regulation.

After a scoreless overtime, Bailey Mooney and Lexi Donathan scored on penalty kicks, but North Miami connected on four penalty kicks for the victory.

Warriors Win Over?Wildcats

SYRACUSE – The?Wawasee boys tennis team topped?Whitko 3-2 Tuesday in a home match.

Zach Leedy led the charge at No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 6-1 win for Wawasee, while Graham Perek won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2 singles.

The Warriors’ No. 1 duo of Jacob Krugman and Grant Brooks won 6-1, 6-0.

Devon Akers won at No. 3 singles for Whitko, 7-5, 4-6, 6-3, while Whitko’s No. 2 doubles team of Jonathan Strayer and Jackson Hollenbaugh won 6-2, 2-6, 6-1.

Wawasee won the JV match 3-1.

Taylor Fiedek won 8-6 at No. 1 singles for the?Warriors, while Holden Babb won 8-0 at No. 2 singles, and the No. 1 doubles team of Blaine Baut and Devon Kuhn won 8-2.

Whitko’s Isaiah Koher won 8-0 at No. 2 singles.



Tigers Routed By Redhawks

The?Warsaw boys tennis team lost 4-1 to Goshen on Tuesday in a home match.

The Tigers (3-1, 1-1 NLC) will play at 5 p.m. today at Culver Academies.



Warsaw Drops Two At Conference?Match

ELKHART – The Warsaw girls golf team lost to Northridge and Concord in a three-way Northern Lakes Conference match Tuesday at Bent Oak Golf Course.

Warsaw shot a 206, while Northridge and Concord each carded 181s.

Concord beat Northridge with a fifth-player tiebreaker.

Izzy Ray led the Lady Tigers (8-4,  2-3 Northern Lakes Conference) with a 50, while Julia Hildebrand shot a 51, Madelyn?Ray recorded a 52, Grayson Kilburn carded a 53 and Miriam Hagg posted a 57.

Warsaw’s JV team beat both Concord and Northridge with a score of 215.

Warsaw’s Anna Morgan shot a 49, while Sydney scored a 53, Marie?Frazzetta posted a 55 and Delaney Byron had a 58.

The Lady Tigers will host Wawasee and Elkhart Memorial on Thursday at 5 p.m. at Stonehenge Golf Club.



Valley Plays?Two At Three-Team Match

ROCHESTER?– Two girls golfers competed for Tippecanoe Valley in a three-team match against Rochester and Maconaquah on Tuesday at Round Barn Golf Club.

The Lady Vikings didn’t have a team score, but season-low rounds were shot by Cheney Canada (62) and Sara Kelly (65).

Maconaquah won the match with a score of 177, while Rochester compiled a 235.



Triton Tennis Tops LaVille

LAVILLE – John?Gardner and Jared Bules notched wins Tuesday as the Triton boys tennis team won 5-0 at LaVille.

Gardner won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, while Bules pulled off a sweep at No. 2 singles.

The?Trojans (3-4, 2-2 Hoosier North Athletic Conference) won by forfeit in the other three matches.



Valley Shut Out By Peru

AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley boys tennis team was blanked 5-0 by Peru on Tuesday in a home match.

The Vikings competed in the singles matches, but did not have doubles matches.
