Prep Roundup: Kleopfer Leads Lady Warriors Past Goshen

WAWASEE – Elizabeth Kleopfer was all over the court to lead the Wawasee girls volleyball team to a 3-2 win Thursday in a Northern Lakes Conference match at Goshen.

The Lady Warriors won 25-21, 25-23, 20-25, 17-25, 15-6.

Kleopfer tallied seven kills, 14 assists, 10 digs and four aces for Wawasee (6-6, 1-1 NLC), while Molly Jones and Janae Hapner recorded seven kills each.

Wawasee’s Peyton Rookstool registered nine digs, while Ashley Vazquez had seven assists.

The Lady Warriors’ JV team won 24-25, 25-22, 17-15 over Goshen.

Wawasee’s freshman squad faced Northridge and won 25-14, 25-24.



Valley Trounces Triton

BOURBON – The Tippecanoe Valley volleyball team won in three games Thursday in a Three Rivers Conference match at Triton.

The Lady Vikings (9-7, 2-2 TRC) won 26-24, 26-17, 25-19.

Abby Viers tallied seven kills for Triton, while Dylanie Miller recorded nine assists and Sydney Musilli notched six digs.

Valley won 25-24, 25-9 in the JV match.



Whitko Spikers Fall In Four Sets

PERU – Jadin Parrett had nine kills, but the Whitko girls volleyball team lost 19-25, 22-25, 25-23, 18-25 Thursday at Peru.

Kristina Slater tallied five kills and 18 digs for the Lady Wildcats, while Reese Bradford registered 24 assists.

Squires Cruise Past Wildcats

SOUTH WHITLEY – Luke Donathan and Brady Wiley earned sweeps as the Manchester boys tennis team won 5-0 Thursday in a Three Rivers Conference match at Whitko.

Donathan won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, while Spence Trick won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles, and Wiley won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.

The No. 1 doubles duo of Kyle Shepherd and Kamdyn Lester won 6-3, 6-2, and the No. 2 doubles team of Logan Parrett and Quinn Martin won 6-1, 6-0.

MIDDLEBURY – The Wawasee boys tennis team fell 5-0 Thursday at Northridge.

The Warriors are 4-8 overall and 0-4 in the Northern Lakes Conference.



Brunner Leads Wawasee Past Fremont

SYRACUSE – Belle Brunner’s round of 43 led the Wawasee girls golf team  to a 187-200 win over Fremont at Maxwelton Golf Club.

Wawasee’s Jadison Rostochak scored a 46, while Tate Cowan had a 48, Lesley Tayagua recorded a 50, Ava Harker scored a 51, and Taylor Cripe shot a 54.

The Lady Warriors (9-8) will play Saturday at noon in the Northern Lakes Conference Tournament at Black Squirrel Golf Club in Goshen.



Lady Vikings Compete At Three-Way Match

PERU – Tippecanoe Valley had two golfers compete in a three-way match against Maconaquah and North Miami on Thursday at Peru Golf Course.

While the Lady Vikings didn’t have enough players for a team score,  Cheney Canada shot a 61 and Sara Kelly scored a 70.

Maconaquah won the match with a 193, to North Miami’s 244.



Cougars, Panthers End In Game In Tie

AUBURN – Trenton Parker scored a goal as Lakeland Christian tied 1-1 Thursday at Lakeland Park.

Remington Swanson was in the net with 12 saves for the Cougars (5-2-1).



Manchester Match Shortened By Weather

MANCHESTER – A boys soccer match between Class 1A No. 18 Manchester and Class 1A No. 8 Eastbrook was called late in the first half because of a storm.

The Squires held a 1-0 lead when the match was called, on the strength of Justin Self’s goal on a free kick.

The match will not count toward either team’s record.

“We know what we can do,” said Manchester coach Dave McKee. “We can play with the best in the state.”



Lady Tigers Post Another Shutout

ELKHART – Delaney Taylor and Corissa Koontz kicked in goals to lead the Class 3A No. 10 Warsaw girls soccer team to a 2-0 Northern Lakes Conference win Thursday at Concord.

Brenna Buhrt assisted on Taylor’s goal. Kaylee Patton was in the net with five saves for the Lady Tigers (8-2, 5-0 Northern Lakes Conference).

Warsaw will play at Class 3A No. 9 Fishers on Saturday at 3 p.m.



Manchester Blanked By Eastbrook

MARION – The Manchester girls soccer team dropped a match 3-0 Thursday at Eastbrook.

Kindra Stetzel was in the net with 11 saves for the Lady Squires.
