LEESBURG - The Power of Pink champagne brunch Sunday, Oct. 12 was held at Tippecanoe Country Club, Leesburg.
The fundraiser raises money for the Kosciusko County Cancer Care Fund.
So far this year, through Aug. 31, the Kosciusko County Cancer Care Fund has donated $123,740 to 71 clients throughout the county.
These funds have been dispersed to help offset or cover the cost of rent and mortgages, utilities, car payments and rentals, gas and food certificates, car insurance and repairs, home insurance and repairs, life and health insurance, prescription medications and patient programs.
There were 80 women at the annual event. Brunch and champagne were served and several designer purses were auctioned off to the highest bidder. One purse went for $4,000, the highest bid of the day. Scott Wiley served as the auctioneer.
There were 17 purses in the auction and one purse and an autumn basket in the raffle, and 12 prosecco bottles that were handmade and given to one person at each table.
Sunday’s purse auction event boasted a list of desirable designer purses. Designers included Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors and Coach.
Organizer Julee Rauch, who serves on the cancer care fund committee, said, “We are so grateful people are supporting this important cause and are showing up for one another. This eases their journey. It makes their burden a little lighter.”
