Positive Facts

Editor, Times-Union:
Today I am announcing a number of positive economic facts affecting Kosciusko County. I am seeking re-election as the incumbent in the upcoming Republican primary on May 6.
Kosciusko County ranks second in northeast Indiana in new job creation at 7.4 percent in 2013, and Kosciusko County unemployment is eighth lowest in the state at 5.2 percent.
Two new businesses in the micro-machine, manufacturing sector have created 60 new jobs with $2.8 million in capital investments. In the Tru-Point/Agriculture sector 70 new jobs with $30 million in capital investment have been established through acquisition or relocation with Shiloh of 70 new jobs and $3.3 million in capital investments.
And the list goes on: OMCO, Nextremity, Polywood, Milestone, Precision Wire, Winona Power Coating, Osteoshape and Biomet for new jobs and capital investment in Kosciusko County.
This represents a total of some 505 jobs and $108 million for our county, and I am pleased to be a part of the positive economic growth we have seen in Kosciusko County during my time as a county commissioner. I want to continue to do my part and one of the reasons I am seeking re-election.
