Poor Leadership

Editor, Times-Union:

Join the club, Ms. Haughee, there is a growing number of voters in Kosciusko County that just don't get it either. But if you are expecting an answer from the mayor on your questions or any others I think you may be disappointed.

Why would anyone spend 2 million for a building worth 1 million? Is that responsible government when it comes to taking care of taxpayer money? Of course, at the end of the day the cost will be over 4 million after we pay for the new curtains. It's out of control and there is no control when it comes to spending our tax money.

Of course, Mr. Wiggins has had a number of issues that he didn't want us to know about, such as the cops that were involved in the gun scandal. How about our meth problem that is on the brink of destroying our kids? His answer was to keep it on the down low. And by the way, let's not forget about our homeless problem that we don't have.

If that's not bad enough, you throw the county commissioners into the mix and it turns into a cesspool of good ole boy politics and the problems that we are having with the airport, the out-of-control spending, and a renegade animal control officer are a direct result of poor leadership. How can that many people turn over signed statements to the commissioners and have nothing done about it?

I don't want to say that there was a cover up by the commissioners because that would imply that they are intelligent enough to pull it off, I just don't think that is the case. I think it was more like looking the other way, protecting one of the boys and ignore it long enough and hope it goes away while treating the brave people who came forward with the information less than respectful.

During the last several weeks the only two elected officials that have not sold their soul to the corporate agenda are Mr. Rocky Goshert and Mr. Kyle Babcock. Rocky asked that his wages be frozen, and Kyle did not want to spend the money for the building. We need more people like Rocky and Kyle to run our county and city. We also need someone like Mr. Tony Miller to consider running for the next commissioners job, that would be good for Kosciusko County.
