Political Discord

Editor, Times-Union:

If I was a Congressman in Washington, the greatest wish I would have is get rid of "political discord."

All Congressmen should have the same reason for being in Washington. It appears to me their primary aim is that they get re-elected and have the support of their respective party. To serve for the betterment of everyone should be first.

I am sorry (I am not insinuating), but it reminds me of when I lived on a farm and was to feed our pigs. The pigs would raise to come to the trough. I got the milk in the long trough. First pig got in trough and lied down and then all the milk went on the ground. No pigs got any. Political discord also leads to little or nothing.

I think there is a way to get rid of political discord. Someone said, "The Bible is the best book ever given to man." Man takes religion and much for granite. That is why they are missing the boat, so to speak. Like pulling weeds in a garden, they pull the leaves and leave the roots.

The words of a song are, "There is power, power in Jesus blessed name." If they would aim to first please our God when discussing matters, I feel Congressmen would be happier, enjoy their work more and accomplish more for our country when there. What do you think?
