Pit Bull

Jack Birch,

Have you drafted the letter addressing the public nuisance attempted pit bull attack on Huntington Street? As a concerned, responsible citizen of North Webster, I feel that this action should be taken ASAP as this animal is a threat to the citizens and children of our community. This pit bull is out of control, allowed to run loose and recently exhibited aggressive behavior when it charged citizen Phyllis Maule with the intent of doing great bodily harm without provocation. Ms. Maule filed the appropriate complaints with the Webster Police Department and I feel that this hazard should be removed from our streets before tragedy strikes with the mauling or murder of a young child, elderly citizen or vacationing guest.

This attempted attack took place on my property, which is three houses down from the house trailer that houses this dangerous animal.

The comment by Jon Sroufe that "it wasn't a problem for the town council" made at the most recent meeting is as obscene as Mr. Sroufe is himself and is a great comment to be made by an elected official of our town. The lack of concern and response from the town board, police department and city attorney is not acceptable.

I have sent my concerns to newspapers and agencies to document that you, the police department and town board have been made aware of this this dangerous situation and it is allowed to exist in our community by our public servants. So when tragedy strikes, and it will, those in office who were made aware of this ticking time bomb and have chose to do nothing about it will be held accountable by the press and the agencies that govern such a pathetic example city government at its worst.
