The Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department is temporarily closing Pike Lake beach due to high E. coli counts as of Tuesday, July 1. Water samples are currently being tested again, but results will not be available for another 24 hours. The public is asked not to swim or wade in Pike Lake until test results show E. coli levels that do not pose a health risk.
The department will keep the public updated as to when Pike Lake beach is available for swimming again.
Also, Winona Lake beach is temporarily closing due to high E. coli counts as of Tuesday, July 1. Retesting is currently being done and results will be available after noon tomorrow. The public is asked not to swim or wade in the water until test results show E. coli levels that do not pose a health risk.
