Pie In The Sky

I have read letters here in the paper that said the states will not have to pay anything for the increases in the Medicaid assistance in their states. My understanding is that’s only temporary and in a few years it falls back to the states and the fed drops out of the expansion. Some people are famous for kicking cans down the road.

First of all, the feds have no more money we are broke. So to expand anything right now is not reality it is stupidity. Whenever you go to the bank and it is a zero balance, you go home and sell the jewels to buy food. America has many assets around the world and she needs to liquidate many of them. Governments in this world that we are protecting, need to pay us a service fee for our service people and expenses. There is no free lunch and we need compensation for our great machine that we the people have bought and paid for. Instead of getting money from Pakistan we give them billions for the privilege of dying to keep them from being destroyed from the inside.

Let’s look at the health care issue from another angle. Young people just starting out rarely have insurance because their job doesn’t provide it and most are healthy. Many young people today live at home and in some ways help with the family expenses by paying for or giving back to their parents. Now you may say not my kids. Well whose fault is that? If children that are working still live at home, they need to pay DIGS. That's what they call it in the UK. When they get their paycheck they go home and give mom one-third of it for the costs of feeding and keeping the family warm. If the parents don’t have insurance that covers the young adults in the household up to the age of 26, the young person will have to get insurance or pay a portion of their income to the federal government as a tax. That is money that would have gone to the family for necessities. It’s great how the current government keeps telling us how we should pay more in taxes so they can redistribute it back to us in services they don’t have the ability to provide.

The government should privatize most everything and oversee it as an auditor. We the people have needs and the government takes money out of commerce and our earning to provide them. We need to put out for bid those services and allow private enterprises to compete for our business. If they do not comply with our requirements we fire them and get a new organization that is in that particular field. Competition is the best way to keep checks and balances in anything. Our prisons are becoming private and it works well they are some of the best in the world. Our government representatives are elected to oversee our needs in every particular area and they should be held accountable to see to it we are protected in our homes and on our borders. We don’t produce cars and trucks at least we didn’t use to, until the bailout. My point is, we tell them what we need they bid on it and provide us with the vehicle we requested. If it doesn’t measure up to our needs we change and get something new.

There is hope with a real leader. We just need to give up the pie in the sky outlook and hire elected officials that are not drinking that rose-colored juice.
