SYRACUSE - Philip C. Wilson, 73, of Leesburg, went home to our Lord Aug. 9, 2010, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, after a lengthy battle with Leukemia.

He was born Nov. 14, 1936, in Green Fork, to Donald A. and Mary Eva Goodson Wilson. On March 29, 1985, he married Becky Murphy, who survives.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and a graduate of Ball State University, Muncie. He served as a distributor for Brodbeck Seeds. He was a member of North Webster American Legion Post 253.

Also surviving are six daughters: Krista (and spouse Paul) Grove, Albany; Kathy (and spouse Rich) Garringer, Ridgeville; Kelly (and spouse Scott) Covey, Granger; Tammy (and spouse Paul) Hadley, North Webster; Barbara (and spouse Roger) King, Parker City; and Colleen (and spouse Charlie) Murphy-Shepherd, Pierceton; a son, Pat Murphy, Leesburg; nine grandchildren; 11 nieces and nephews; three sisters: Marcia Poms, La Selvia, Calif.; Anita Wilson, San Diego, Calif.; and Sheryl (and spouse Ron) Brown, Green Fork; and his stepmother, Caroline Wilson, Richmond.

A memorial service will be at noon Friday at Eastlund Funeral Home, 7458 E. CR 1000N, Syracuse, officiated by Pastor Kent Bucher of Vineyard Church. Military honors will follow at the funeral home then there will be a gathering at North Webster American Legion

Calling is from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at the funeral home.
