Philip Arnold WilsonPhilip Arnold Wilson died peacefully at home on Dec. 16, 2020.
Philip was born on Nov. 13, 1935, to Maggie Ruby Jameson and Paul Wilson.
He and Dora Jean Larimer were married in 1956 and enjoyed 64 years together. Phil is survived by his wife; son, Philip Michael Wilson; daughter, Alicia (Wilson) Allen; and son, Patrick Steven Wilson; and by his loving sister, Patsy Ann (Wilson) Brallier. Together, Phil has seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Phil will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Phil was born and raised in Warsaw, joining the U.S. Navy after high school. After the Navy, Phil had a long career in the U.S. government.
Philip had a wry sense of humor and was fond of making up rather salty sayings. He had a great interest in genealogy, and enjoyed improving the house and yard. But the most important thing in Philip’s life was his family. They were his special pride and joy, and he never failed to stress that the family comes first. He was modest in taste and lifestyle, but extravagant in his breadth of mind and interest. Philip was funny, and smart and sometimes made us crazy with his neatness and organization.
A memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 15 at 10 a.m. at Celebration Church, 1289 S. CR 250E, Winona Lake. A short reception follows from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
