A North Manchester woman was killed early Wednesday morning after crossing into the path of a semi tractor-trailer.
According to a news release from the Warsaw Police Department, emergency personnel were dispatched at about 3:10 a.m. Wednesday to the westbound lanes of U.S. 30 at Old 30 for a collision involving a pedestrian.
The preliminary results of the ongoing investigation indicate McKenzie Callison, 32, North Manchester, crossed into the path of a westbound 2025 Freightliner Cascadia tractor-trailer, driven by Wally Ortiz, 54, of Joliet, Ill. Callison was hit on the roadway and succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office Fatal Team was requested to assist with the reconstruction.
