Posted

A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle Saturday when the driver allegedly failed to see the pedestrian walking north onto East Fort Wayne Street in Warsaw.
According to a Warsaw Police Department accident report, at 10:01 p.m. Saturday, a SUV, driven by David Skerritt, 63, East Main Street, Warsaw, was southbound on North Detroit Street.
Skerritt slowed down as he approached the intersection with East Fort Wayne Street. He said he began to turn east on East Fort Wayne Street and failed to notice a man, Corey L. Rodocker, 58, Brubaker Street, Warsaw, walking north onto East Fort Wayne Street. Skerritt said he did not see Rodocker as Skerritt turned onto East Fort Wayne Street, causing the SUV to hit Rodocker with the passenger side of the vehicle.
Rodocker was incapacitated, the report states. Medics arrived at the scene and transported Rodocker.
Reicherts towed the vehicle and Skerritt was taking to Kosciusko Lutheran Hospital for a blood draw.
