Pearle E. Hazenfield

SYRACUSE - Pearle E. Hazenfield, 94, of Goshen, and formerly of Syracuse, died at 6:26 a.m. June 30, 2007, in Greencroft Healthcare, Goshen.

She was born Sept. 15, 1912, in Metamora, Ill., to Reuben J. and Lydia Mae Bohlander Attig. On Oct. 17, 1935, she married Dr. Harold H. Hazenfield, who died in 1999.

She lived in Indianapolis from 1939-50, and moved to the Syracuse area from Dayton, Ohio, in 1976. She was a school teacher, a piano and organ teacher for more than 40 years, and taught weekday religious education classes in Kettering, Ohio. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and Ladies of the Round Table, both in Syracuse. She attended North Central College, Naperville, Ill., and Bradley University, Peoria, Ill. She was president of PTA in Indianapolis and band parents organization in Kettering.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Jan) Hirschman, Indianapolis; a son, Dr. Hugh Hazenfield, Waialua, Hawaii; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Vera Galindo, Goshen. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter and two brothers.

Services will be at a later date.

Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
