BOURBON – Paul V. Stiver, 73, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at 6:43 a.m. at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Paul was born the son of Vere H. and Phyllis I. Cline Stiver on Oct. 28, 1947, in Bremen, and remained a lifelong resident of the area. He was part of the 1965 graduating class of Bourbon High School. After high school, Paul attended Tri State (Trine University) for two years.
On May 17, 1980, Paul married the love of his life, Brenda Karle. He worked for several years as a telephone utility employee at United Telephone Company (later known as Sprint, Embarq then Century Link). Paul proudly served his country in the military. He was a member of the Argos Lions Club, as well as the Disabled American Veterans. During his free time, he enjoyed model trains, cars and photography. He also enjoyed watching the Argos Community School’s athletic events.
Those who survive with cherished memories of Paul are his loving wife, Brenda; stepdaughter, Dawn Peters, of Rochester; stepson, Daryl Peters, of Rochester; granddaughter, Amanda (Josh) Mills, of Oxford, Miss.; and great-grandchild, Cohen. His brother, Steve (Cindy) Stiver, of Warsaw, also survives.
He was preceded in death by his mother on Aug. 18, 2011, and his father on April 30, 2008.
A graveside service will be held at a later time and will be announced when a date is established. Burial will occur at the Bremen Cemetery.
