Continuously serving Kosciusko County since 1854
A Patriot Day Ceremony will be held on Sept. 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the 9-11 Memorial in front of the Zimmer Biomet Center Lake Pavilion in Warsaw.
People are encouraged to bring their own chair. Everyone is invited to gather to remember that day 24 years ago in 2001 when America was attacked at the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and the failed attempt that crashed in Shanksville, Pa. A ceremony has been held in Kosciusko County each year since 2002 to remember the 2,977 who lost their lives that day, reminding we will "Never Forget."
"Thousands have also died over time due to toxic exposure and the war on terrorism. It is a gathering to honor all Kosciusko County area first responders in fire, EMS and law enforcement who serve us every day," said Mike Cox, Kosciusko 9-11 Committee chairman. "We are also planning an Honor Parade next year as we observe the 25th Anniversary in 2026 and also commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America."
