COLUMBIA CITY – Parkview Health announced its newly expanded sleep lab at Parkview Whitley Hospital. Opened earlier this month, this addition marks a new era of sleep medicine for Whitley County and surrounding communities, offering advanced care in a modern, patient-centered environment.
The new Parkview Whitley Sleep Lab transforms and expands the existing sleep lab into an eight-bed facility, including six new private rooms and bathrooms designed for patient comfort and optimal diagnostic accuracy. This growth is part of a strategic transition from the Parkview Hospital Randallia Sleep Lab to a more centralized, full-service location in Whitley County to meet rising demand while delivering personalized, precise care for a wide range of sleep disorders.
“This expansion represents an important step forward in our ability to care for patients struggling with sleep-related conditions," said Dr. Srinivasan Devanathan, Parkview Physicians Group (PPG) - Sleep Medicine. "Sleep health is fundamental to overall wellness, and our sleep labs give our patients the tools, expertise and environment needed to diagnose and manage a wide range of sleep disorders."
The sleep lab is equipped with cutting-edge diagnostic technology and staffed by a dedicated team of sleep specialists who treat a range of conditions such as:
• Obstructive and central sleep apnea (treatment options include CPAP, BIPAP, AVAPS, Auto BIPAP, Inspire and remedē® titrations)
• Insomnia and narcolepsy
• Restless leg syndrome (RLS) and periodic limb movement disorder (PLMD)
• Parasomnias, including REM sleep behavior disorder and night terrors
• Nocturnal panic attacks and sleep paralysis, and more
The lab also provides specialized services for pediatric patients, ensuring that individuals of all ages receive appropriate care tailored to their needs.
The Parkview Whitley Sleep Lab features six queen-sized beds and two hospital beds for patients with higher acuity or fall risk, offering comfort and safety in equal measure. The tranquil setting supports both overnight and daytime sleep studies, as well as home study options to increase accessibility and convenience.
In partnership with Parkview's nutrition team, patients are provided meals and snacks during their stay, enhancing the overall comfort and quality of the sleep study experience.
