Editor, Times-Union: In response to Alan Kuta’s letter dated 11-25-11: In your letter you seemed to think I was leaving out my lady across the street when I said we pay high property taxes. Well that’s why it was stated “We.” She knew about the letter that was to me written by me before it was written. She could not get the city to respond so we were trying together to get the limbs picked up. If you like limbs in your yard then so be it, but she wants the city to whom she pays taxes to help her out by doing their job.
As far as my trees, I have planted them all and my wife can’t stand getting her hands covered in mud but I love it. So you should check your facts before you write a letter condemning me.
As for my house, I built it on land that was owned by my family before I was born. It seems in this semi-socialistic country we live in, the harder a person works and the nicer their home the more they pay. I believe we should all pay the same amount for police, fire, street and the normal city services we all enjoy.
I was taught to speak for myself and not anyone else. So I say I, so as to not come off as quoting anyone else I hope you, too, have a great holiday season and if you want to come pick up limbs I’m in the book and they are right across the street.
