One Dead, Three Injured After Accident In Marshall County

A Wisconsin man was pronounced dead and three men were injured during an accident Thursday in Marshall County.
On Thursday at approximately 9:36 p.m., Marshall County Central Dispatch was notified of a multivehicle accident in the area of U.S. 30 and U.S. 31. Dispatch was further advised one of the vehicles involved was engulfed in flames, according to a news release from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
First responders arrived on scene at the crash which was located on U.S. 30 just west of the intersection with U.S. 31 in the westbound lanes of traffic. Based upon the initial investigation, the 2016 Freightliner tractor and trailer being driven by Abdussalam A. Noor, 47, Maryland, was driving westbound on U.S. 30 from U.S. 31.
While continuing westbound on U.S. 30, the 2016 Freightliner hit a 2024 Ford F250 that was sitting stationary on the shoulder of the roadway behind a white utility truck that was being towed by Bettcher's Towing.
Thomas J. Diener, 26, Wisconsin, was seated in the front driver seat of the 2024 Ford F250 at the time of the collision, due to the force of the impact Diener was ejected from the pickup. First responders attempted to assist Diener but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were two additional passengers in the 2024 Ford F250 that were injured during the collision, these being Robbie D. Betts and Carter Haen. Both Betts and Haen were transported to memorial hospital for their injuries. Ryan W. Carnahan, the operator of the Bettcher's Towing wrecker also suffered injuries during the collision and was transported to memorial hospital for his injuries.
